Counseling is both for the person who is feeling immense pain and stress, and for the person who is simply seeking a context that will keep them accountable, motivated, and encouraged as they work towards their academic, career, health, and/or personal goals. Because counseling is about soul care, every person can benefit from the process.

I hold your confidence in the highest regard, and I am committed to keeping our time a safe place for you to speak freely whatever is on your heart and mind. My office is HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant to ensure that your identity and information (when you come, what you say, and records of your visit) are all kept confidential. At the same time, there are important legal and ethical limitations regarding counselor-client confidentiality that I am required to adhere to. These include reasonable suspicion that the client is in danger of harming him/herself or someone else; I become aware of or suspect abuse, neglect, or exploitation to a child, an elder, or an adult with a disability; or if I am ordered by a court or other legal proceedings/statutes which require disclosure as specified under the law.
Counseling is an opportunity to care for your soul and enables you to explore your worries, wishes, personal relationships or life goals. I am here to help you better understand your heart and your world so you can identify where you are stuck relationally, vocationally, spiritually, and/or emotionally. I believe that it is in relationships that we are often hurt, and it is in healthy relationships that we are renewed. Counseling is a place where you can experience a healthy relationship with your counselor that affords you the space to examine those private and sacred places within your life and where we begin to create the conditions for change. Yielding to the Holy Spirit, Christian counseling utilizes Biblical truths including all the teachings of Scripture, but especially those that bear on our relationship with God and one another, and the tools of the mental health profession to assist individuals in living a more meaningful, healthier, and productive life with God, oneself, and those around them.
Counseling is for your benefit to help you strengthen and grow holistically. For some, this process includes inviting valued friends or family members into the sessions as he or she moves towards the advancement of their goals.
